More information needed on antique chair

    Welcome, Emmarti! That chair is really something! All the decoration looks like "pyrography" (aka wood burning.) The through tenon construction suggests Arts and Crafts era or someone heavily influenced by the era.

    Where did the person you inherited from live?

    That’s a fairly common form of a pyrography kit chair, aka “Flemish Art”, “Poker Art”, I’ve had two myself.

    Agree with the above. Arts and crafts influence. Probably teens-20s.

    The image below is from a 1907 pyrography catalog I sold in the past. The shape of the chair at the bottom left of the second page shown looks very similar.

    The company that issued the catalog was Rothschild Bros. of Ithaca, NY. I don't remember if they manufactured the kits themselves.
