Kasperscuriosities Two hundred years too late.

So I was out digging and sorting through that trailer again yesterday. Here are a couple of items I found. Excuse my dirty fingernails it was pretty dirty out there and there wasn't anywhere to wash my hands. rps20150612_093529.jpg rps20150612_093747.jpg rps20150612_093714.jpg rps20150612_093639.jpg rps20150612_093833.jpg I think this pot might have some value the old jewelry I thought was pretty.

I like the pottery and the lockets especially. They represent the two areas I particularly like... earthy and ethnic on the one hand, and delicate and antique on the other. :)

Is the only bulky locket carved glass? I'm not seeing anything earth-shattering but it's all pretty.

    Evelyb30,
I don't think so it's all just old costume stuff. The one you're talking about has some sort of metal backing made to look gold. The front piece is glass but it is like overlaid on a little gold design not carved.

I recently had an "old costume piece" sell for $300, and I've had one or two go higher. These don't look in that range, but they're nice.

make sure you put the root beer earrings and brooch together as a set

I like the second pin from the left in the (almost) top row which looks like a "curled ribbon" with red and green accents on the flowers. ;)

That one is in the best condition and is clearly marked Kramer on the back. I like it and the butterfly myself. :)

I would research the butterfly and the root beer brooch to see if they are Delizza and Elster pieces. The butterfly is little more simplistic in style than the usual D & E butterflies but the antennae are the same. D & E pieces are highly sought after. The backs of the pieces will have distinctive characteristics if they are D & E.

I'm not seeing anything super valuable in the jewelry. Some fun pieces though, which one is the Kramer? If you take a front and back photo of the two pieces Lizzie mentioned, there are a few people who are good with D&E jewelry here, but even if the butterfly is D&E, not sure value is all that much. I had a confirmed butterfly that in perfect condition that sat unsold for $19.99 on Ebay for quite some time. Also you mention that the Kramer is the one "in good condition", if the condition of the rest is just so-so, this will impact value, but from the front everything looks pretty good condition-wise.

I've found that with Acoma pottery, older finer pieces or known artists are what sells well.

Love to see what you find, Kaspers. Thanks for letting us in on the treasure hunt!

This thread was started almost a year ago, suspect the items are long gone...
