I won these leather gauntlets in a country auction here in central Ontario, Canada, along with a beaded rifle case. The description said the gauntlets date to the 1930’s. Now, I don’t recall seeing leather strip decoration like this pair has before, and my search for a similar pair has led nowhere. Does anyone know the tribe that may have made these?

They do appear to be made in the "Eskimo-style".
Do you have photos of the inside?
How does one tell that they are moose hide?

Thanks for your reply. I’ve had Cree beaded moosehide gauntlets before, and recognize the material. Like deer skin, but thicker and heavier. As for the inside, I’ll try to take and post photos tomorrow.
