I think yours are glass, like the listing. They should not have used "moonstone" as a key word but at least they put glass in the title. I think their price is more than a bit ambitious ;)

These stones, made in both glass and lucite, were made to mimic moonstone and are called "moonglow".

Thank you, you confirmed my thoughts. They will go to the TS along with a baggie full of unwanted earrings. Have a Great Holiday.

Oy vey. Victorian and clips are not a conflation. ;)

They had screwbacks, back when, but no clips. They aren't bad earrings, but a charity shop might be the right place for them.

Thanks to all of you. Good to know Victorian earrings had screw backs.

Just towards the end, I think, but clips came along even later.

Older ones have hooks or loops, screw fitments are late 19th. Clips are generally 1940s onwards. I do have clips which Ma bought in about 1941.

    Ca mid-1890s.:)
1930s. This specific model clip is from the mid-30s onward. There was an older model in the early 30s.
I think these earrings are more 1940s though. They are pretty, with those fleur-de-lys claws.

You are great teachers. I remember my mother and aunt having all screw on earnings. Before I was old enough to go to school (1944, 1945), I used to love watching my Aunt dress for work.
    Thanks again, Sue
