Any info on this wonderful pin would be so appreciated! I tried to get as close as I could, even trying to take a pic thru a magnifying glass... not sure if this is clear enough... rsz_a5d52be8-3315-4e59-9bd5-e0959c30e9d1.jpg rsz_f99bcc4e-dd86-4678-874f-38a12a786bcc.jpg

I believe this pin was made in Mexico and it's not a true scarab shape.

The mark on the upper part of the body in your second picture is the Mexican "eagle." There are examples of Mexican silver marks and explanations about when used, etc. on the page in this link.

Bee or fly, not a scarab beetle.

Thirded. Probably a fly, given that it was made in Taxco. It doesn't look right for a bee. Made between 1948 and 1978. I'm no Mexican jewelry expert.

Nice Modernist insect, possibly a fly. Eight legs though. Artistic licence?

The eagle with a 3 in it is indeed Taxco. I can narrow the date down a bit more, because this squarish eagle (bell shape) began to be used ca 1955 and was used til ca 1980.
I can't find the maker's mark, maybe @reader recognizes it. I tweaked it a bit, hope that helps:
