Modernist coffee table - Danish? Dutch?

I live in Switzerland and found this amazing coffee table the other day but I can’t seem to find any information about it anywhere.

The assembly details, the polished aluminum and crystal glass indicate for me that it ain’t just some normal table.

Her dimensions are

86 x 86 x 36 cm

Does anyone know anything about it?

imo.....brass and glass...is right out of the 1980's.....

 

But it doesn't LOOK brass....at least not to ME.......AND, BTW, WELCOME to ANTIQUERS!!!

Not brass. Could be aluminum.

Age....no idea. I've seen similar ones currently for sale.

I use the term Brass & Glass , for the 80's metal and glass topped tables of many varieties, that use the L shaped ikea style screw drivers to assemble them.

A nice but fairly recent table, similar tables are still being made. Maybe the search term 'brushed aluminium' helps.

 

I agree that this is pretty modern.

 

Can't say I was paying attention. It's newer than anything I'd buy, and with the glass top it would have been too risky to have in the house for a long time anyway.

Ikea does mark some things, but I'm "allergic" to flat pack furniture.

 

Looks like a table I would expect to see in a company's waiting room with magazines etc. on it.

hard to say without some kind of maker's mark. Robin Day had a similar line with similar connections and bar construction in his Alpha line

 

Not at all. We answer all kinds of questions about non-antiques and enjoy seeing everything that people are finding. I worked in the modern furniture business for years, so have a bit of knowledge. It is a smart looking table even if it is not an icon of modern design.

 

I don't know if you have the store "Room & Board" in Switzerland, but similar tables, with less design that yours retail at that store for around $1K.

Absolutely, We like cool stuff however young it is. If it's relatively light, I'd agree on brushed aluminium. You do also get brushed chrome and even brushed steel.
