Featured Modern Japanese Tea Set-maker?

    I bought this little Japanese porcelain tea set. It is nicely painted in underglaze blue, and each piece is signed. Probably classed as tourist ware but its good to check?

    Missing the teapot and one cup but I presume you know that. :)
    Is the ring of a size to be a teapot stand, for holding the teapot over a votive candle? (I'm trying to imagine what it's for.)

    I think this set was for domestic use (in Japan) in which case the 5 cups are correct. Decor in the Chinese style, but made in Japan.
