Hey all newbie here happy to find the forum.
Found a chair today quarter sawn white oak hip rail rocker , can’t find anything on the net that would identify. Has numbers 182- 933 on the rear seat rail that’s all I can find.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Tried to, Error says files too big which is strange because it’s the same size from my iPhone as the one I posted above. I put it in my avatar if you can see it?

Nice chair but virtually impossible to attribute without a label. I don't see any of the characteristics of the big name companies.

Even with the deep seat, the arms look really low. Have you tried putting a cushion in the seat then sitting in it?

Yes it is a smaller style chair. Highest point to the rail or cushion about 16” , right on point with this Stickley I have.

Technically I believe those are referred to as hip rails, not necessarily arms.

After some of my own detective work it would appear the chair is a L & G Stickley. The model number on the seat rail is consistent with a side chair I have that was previously authenticated. I’ve had the side chair so long I had totally forgotten about the seat rail numbers.

I would expect L&JG Stickley pieces to have pinned joints. Indeed, the L&JG hip rail rockers I am finding on the internet all have pinned joints.

    A prerequisite, one might say.
