A lovely picture of a young woman, I would think possibly French if we go by the name written on the back.

The back is written I think in French in two different forms of handwriting. I have absolutely no skill with languages besides English and am at a loss as to deciphering some of the script.

A little help, please?

 

Isn't she sweet? The script appears to be German. Sure someone will come along who can translate. (I can't.)

I also think it's German. First word is, I think, "diese" and that means "these." But that's almost all I have... The writing is hard to read and my German is rudimentary.

 

Interesting! And right next to "Diese" is a little blue ink arrow going to the "agrandissement." Maybe the rest of that part in blue refers to the how or the why of the enlargements?

 

The blue looks like a combination of French & German: "Diese" German and further along is the French "vous deux" that translates "you two" and on further more "aux du" meaning "to the." I can't read the longggg words.

The very last word may??? "verewigen" - the German word for "perpetrate."

 

Wow! I never would have thought that it was a mix of both French and German.

 

I'm not so sure that it's both languages. I see "von dem" (from the) instead of vous deux and "auf der" (on the" instead of aux du

 

I'm with Bakers....der this and der that.....reads like only german.
