image.jpeg Any estimate? Posted on Craigslist as gothic mirror. Seller is selling for $100 which I am positive the value is a lot more than that, not sure of its actual worth or age though. Anyone out there know? Thanks in advance!

If its wood Id jump on it with both feet! if plastic,Id pass. You could call it Rococo .I meant to add without closeups of the back and frame, its difficult to tell age.

They look nice to me, and I think they're probably worth $100 even if new. That looks like a grouping of 3 identical frames. I can't see buying them retail for that money. I can't see buying one of them retail for that money. Are you looking to resell?

I think the style is a precursor to Rococo called Régence - 1st quarter 18th C. But that's the style... not necessarily when these were made. Stuff in this style is still being made. It's unlikely these are actually of that period.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Is that a flat straight across piece, or are the outer 2 hinged to the inner one????? Looks VERY nice!!!!!:):)

If we resell it is due to the fact they are a lot more value than we paid for them (my wife would probably sell for a thousand profit she is in love with it).

So what I think, it's three seperate mirrors. The wood on the actual mirror pieces is a lot older looking than the back. Someone rigged them into one giant mirror and cut a board to fit/hang. Together they are 5ft5in x 4ft 2in. Huge piece was way bigger in person.

All that's visible of the mirror back. The home made binder does not appear old but the mirrors wood has some age. image.jpeg

I don't think these are particularly old. Maybe 1980s. Probably cost more just to buy the glass alone at a mirror place.

    They must be pretty heavy.

If you are interested in that type of design, you might look up Jean Berain. There were two of them - elder and younger. They were at the fore edge of this style. You can't attribute this design to them, but the affinities should be self-evident.

seeing the thin board and the staples......it's not that old....

Seller told me 40 years is all he know of lifespan.
The staples and the wood board were added to make these three mirrors one giant.

40 years ago was 1978 so, yeah, that works. I don't think it would be a lot older than that.

Thank you for all your help. It seems to be in that ballpark. My wife isn't going to let me resell it "yet"- she loves it too much. I feel like I could come up a thousand on it but we are not lacking for money so she is not interested in letting it go.

If you could get that kind of money, take it and run very fast!

This one has been sitting in our shop at $195.00 for a couple months with no takers…..
