    Hi Everyone

Found these 2 items today in good condition in a opshop $20. $12 for large
Can anyone help me identify if these 2 Vandyke dinnerware items are real. I can see markings on both
The larger one is approx 30+cm with lid the Minton BB indent, and L, an owl eyes looking image, an X, R
    Then R4488K? In red ink

The smaller around 20 Cm length has a lid, with a spot for a spoon or something, not damaged

others indented, the markings are similar but not the same
D L BB S, Y something else, then printed marks
    Q4488 .3.
    Thank you
    Australia

I love that pattern and the colors on that.

OP, you'll want your post to look like this, where you click "Insert Every Image As A" "Full Image".

Beautiful knowledge Bercrystal-'November 17, 1859',but you didn't tell us what exact time it was produced ?

It's when the company registered the design. ;)

That is because I have no idea when it was produced other than it was sometime between 1859 (when it was registered) & 1873 (when Kovel's said the mark was no longer used).

I did want to say that I have no reason to doubt that these are the original pieces. There would be no reason to make this type of piece as there would not be enough demand to make it monetarily worthwhile.

The other impressed marks will include a symbol for date of manufacture, I think.
