Found this a couple days ago and thought it was a nice little piece. It has square head nails and shows red paint on the underside and sides, but worn off on top. Measures 8 7/8"w x 2 7/8"deep x 3 5/8"h. Would this be considered a miniature, salesman's sample or?? At first I thought bench, but now I lean towards table. I am guessing early 20th century. What would it of been used for? It obviously has been used given the wear on top. Thanks

    Eddie

    Hi,
Looks like an outdoor bench. All of our benches back in the days all had "Vee" cuts like that. Even my little milking stool.

Thank you. Would it be for a doll house or something like that?

Eddie, I think it's too big for a doll house.

Maybe a child's little step stool? I know my kids had something similar in front of the sinks in their bathrooms when they were little. It helped them reach the water to brush their teeth, etc.

Thank you. I never thought of children, but looking at it .. it might very well work. It's solid enough. Only concern is the depth.. tiny feet.

It's adorable! But I think certainly too small for a child's stool at 2 7/8" deep.
