Featured Miniature Purple Glass Bust of Woman

This little glass head came in a large batch of dollhouse miniatures. Most were vintage but there were a few antique pieces mixed in. This looks like an antique piece but I'm having no luck finding anything like it.

The glass reminds me of the little glass animals sold as antique Cracker Jack prizes. It has a little pressed brass base that's been painted gold several times.

Anyone have a clue? Thanks!

 

Can you tell how it’s affixed to the brass base? I ask, because it looks more like an antiquity than an antique.

 

Is that base painted ? I love her,no matter when she was made!

 

It must be glued. There's nothing that shows from the bottom.

 

It has several coats of gold paint on the brass base. She is pretty cool.

 

It does look Roman.

 

The hairstyle could also be Victorian with the pincurls on the sides.

But people frequently draw on old sources when making new things.

That was my thought too. So many modern and antique statuary looks like ancient Roman and Greek.
