I have had this for awhile, it came in a pottery lot I bought. measures 2.5" High and opening is 2.5" also. Has ear handles and glaze pops that look like round holes. Before it goes to GW, would anyone know who K B is?

Looks like it could be Ozark Skag pottery but there were other making similar things. I would guess an Arkansas or Missouri origin.

Thanks Brad... I never heard of Skag Pottery. Will be sure to Google them. Oops and sorry about posting too soon.

You know, I didn't really pay that much attention to the initials and the 04. If the 04 is a date of 2004, this would not be from one of the traditional makers of swirled pottery in the Ozarks. I have run across some similar modern pots that were made of polymers. They weigh quite a bit less than they would if made from pottery. Never knew the source of these.

Brad I think it is pottery. It is not heavy and probably studio pottery.
I was familiar with Niloak Mission Swirl but had never heard of the Ozark Tourist Pottery. Here in Southern Ohio we see the Cole Multi-Colored Syrup Jugs. Thanks for the lesson.

There were other swirl clay pottery makers. Here is a page that tells about some of them.

Besides this, the Evans family in Missouri made swirl clay pottery and there is Desert Sands Pottery in Nevada (and later CA) started by the same family. You will find Ft. Ticonderoga Pottery but it is the same as the Silver Springs, FL pottery.

The Ozark Tourist pottery is not of swirled clay but is decorated on the outside. Others that are outside decorated are Nemadji and Garden of the Gods Pottery. I am sure there are others.
