    hi folks

something i found today, that im very 50/50 on. but it wasnt very much and can use the frame if its nothing

    looks like oscar wilde

it looks on the surface very much like the other porcelain plaque i have

looking up close with a loupe, theres no sign of a printing technique

but unsure, its a tough one to tell

the frame i think is plaster

    any help really appreciated

Way too early to be Oscar Wilde. Given frame, likely to be decorative.

Looks like one of those Italian gilt frames from the 1960s.

Doubt that can be "opened" without damage.

i've just realised that, probably another sign that it is just a decorative thing

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

It's possibly based on an indentifiable painting. But the reproduction appears to be blurry and so even if an online image search would normally work, it won't in this case. Anyway, it wouldn't really matter in terms of selling, if that's what you're going to do.

thanks fig, im not even sure its a painting to be honest, i dont see any print dots close up, but cant see visible brush strokes either

i see very thin lines up close, which makes me think some sort of print but its a hard one to tell

any idea of age, or printing technique ?

Thanks, I meant that it is a printed copy of a painting. I don't think it's a painting.
