I've seen quite a few of these but I am having trouble placing this particular one. The language does not appear to be Arabic to me but I could be wrong. I was thinking either Urdu or Farsi. The picture itself is pretty OK on detail. I have had it a while now but have never really sat down to look at it in detail until recently. Any ideas as to what I have here? image (1).jpeg image 4.jpg I am trying to decide if I want to upgrade its current frame to something nicer. If it has some value I might be willing to actually have it professionally framed.

I like these pictures, and that's the first battle scene I've seen, but I think you'll find the value disappointingly low. I believe it's a recent tourist type of item, but if you want it for yourself, a nice frame will perk it up.

Thankfully, I have almost nothing invested in it. I have seen people drop a lot on something like this piece that was indeed not old. It is painful to watch. However, on the slight chance I was wrong on this I thought I would let folks take a look at it. Depending on the country, bazaars or shops stock quite a few "genuine" miniatures. Some are quite valuable and collectible but others definitely not. I don't know exactly enough to drop a lot of money on one and have so far resisted. This one came at a good price in an OK fairly old frame but very plain.

I am getting better at framing. I thought about waiting until the right small antique frame comes along and then replacing the one it is in. I snagged it because of the battle scene and the number of figures in the frame. It fits with my "other decor" quite nicely. I really appreciate your honesty and advice. Thanks a lot!

It's Persian, from the look of things. Farsi uses Arabic script, more or less, and it looks like something they'd do. That's not an Indian script.
