Shangas, am I "deja vu-ing" because I think I have seen this "aide memoire" a few months ago on this site. I can't remember and haven't looked up the particular thread it was in, but I think its appearance prompted a reference or two about "dance cards"?

Yes, this is my second Aide Memoire. I posted one a few months back which was a bit bigger than this one.

And no, it's not a dance-card. It is an aide memoire.

Thank goodness it is your second posting of an aide memoire.;)

I thought I was getting wonky.

Now if I could just find your previous post about an aide memoire.

    LOL!!

Hah! No, my lighter is MY lighter! Terry's lighter is TERRY'S lighter!!

Mine is a replica of a ZIPPO 1937 polished brass with corner-slashes, as I think, is Terry's (unless his is a genuine 1937 one!)

I nearly bought the replica , but at about that time my old air force zippo leaked fluid in my front pocket , burning my leg.....so I stopped buying and using them in favor of my Dupont.

I have that there because I suspect I'm much younger than the average age of most antiques collectors and dealers. :p

:) I understand. I thought perhaps it was partly in jest and an oxymoron. :)

Just curious, Shangas, but did you start "antique hunting" when you were a young child (7 or so years old)? Were you digging in your yard looking for buried treasure(s) when you were that young? ;)

Sorry to make you think that King.
I'm not military.....although I strongly support the men & women who are !!!

I found the lighter at a ski hill when just a tad of a lad....lost it in University during a snow storm ....found it on the front lawn that spring....and kept it ever since.

When I was a kid, there were two antiques shops down the road from my house. I used to go in there every weekend to drool at the goodies on display. I would've been 5 or 6 at the time. I started SERIOUSLY collecting antiques when I was in my last year of highschool, about 18. And it just built from there. I'll be 28 in about a month.
