I have had this ring for quite some time and now and awhile back I had someone look at it and told me it was more modern. Well, I went back to it and noticed the diamond shape reminded me of a mine cut (not quite perfectly round). So now I am posting it here to see what you all think. It is only marked 14k... Thought? I see similar ones on eBay ranging from 1900 to 1980...

Does it have a flat culet, frosted girdle? The light reflections make it hard to see the stone.Probably an old European cut.

It's not square enough to be Old Mine.
The Belcher setting dates to around 1890, though.
As I am looking at it closer, I can see the flat culet.
So it's an oval-ish Old European. It has a tiny table, which is nice!
These old diamonds varied a lot, so sometimes it's hard to define the cuts.

Impossible to date the ring based on the diamond, the setting has been around since the 1890's and still made and sold today.

I think it's an old diamond in the original setting.

I believe it to be the original setting as well. The diamond has a flat cutlet and frosted girdle. It is also cracked which I would assume wouldnt have been used in a newer setting.... as it would have been replaced.
