Something about it said 50s to me but I don't know why. 8.75 inches tall (22.2cm). Looks to be made of white clay. Impressed bottom mark looks like an "A". A textural sort of fine, sandy glaze under a continuous gold line. The interior is glossy, smooth. Ideas ?

    I'd be looking at Italy.

My 1st thought was maybe German but I haven't had any luck with that or Italian or the "A". Do you think it's mid century or contemporary ?

60s I think, but it could be dead modern too since we don't know where it came from.

It might be 60s but there was a bit of a thing for this style in the 80s too.

So much seems to be cyclic - I suppose eventually this will look contemporary ! !
