Mid century French pottery owl, signed SR 1967

This is my sister in laws and I don't have it in hand. It came from her grandparents estate in California, they had some great mid-century French art so I thought I'd check to see if this was part of thier good stuff from France. It measures 9.5 inches tall, assuming the ink "made in France" is correct and the initials are "SR" I've come up short finding a match. Any help much appreciated.

Sadly, I don't think it's consistent with his other work, and the monogram shown in your link looks different in concept to me, but I have no other suggestion. Cool figure.

 

I was hoping I would be able to find this mark for you as you are always so helpful but I'm sorry to say I wasn't able to find a match. I agree with MOS, the marks isn't the same to my eye. Makes me think of an Ookpik , very cool piece.

Congrats Bear and anundverkaufen! Glad to see it got ID'd, and some interesting stuff in that link.

 

S.I.L. said after looking at the google images link, some of the other pieces look familiar and there's likely more of his pieces in the family.

 

It's quintessentially mid-century modern. A lot of stuff calling itself MCM would look positively prosaic next to it.
