I was drawn to this little vase in an antique shop recently, but there was no info on the tag other than "Mexican pottery vase". It was cheap, so I bought it. It's about 8.5" tall and signed on the bottom with something that looks like it starts with an "O", and the year '78. Look familiar to anyone?

I can certainly see its appeal but it doesn't look Mexican.

I didn't think so either Debora. It looked more Scandinavian Mid Century to me, which is more what I tend to collect.

If you post a full front-on photograph of the bottom, someone may be able to help you decipher.

This is the clearest image I could get of the signature.

For convenience: ? Not convenient. Tried to add an enhancement of the signature pic. Appeared for an instant, then disappeared. Not told file too large. Some other problem. Will try again.

I see "Otto" as well. And to my eye, surname starts with an "H."

I'd have said American studio pottery, from the clay used. I'm not seeing Mexican either.

Didn't want to ask, because of my earlier stone wall issues, but since you asked, I'll second your question.
