One more here. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a shrine, altar or something that would be found in a town square. It appears to be resin, but I have found out that pottery can be coated with resin. There does appear to be some clay residue on the pot and to the sides and behind it, though I'm leaning toward resin. To maintain proportion, the pot in the center would have to be huge or the clock very small. It is signed on the side of one of the pillars though I cannot quite make out the name. On the side of the other pillar "MEX" is inscribed. It stands just under 11" tall and the base is about 8.87" by 3.5". I don't know if this is a clue, but the hole on the bottom goes straight through the pot to form its opening. Thanks for any help and information on this piece.

Is it made of chalkware and painted?
