Methodist Free Church Hymns 1800’s

    Another small book at 6”X4” and 729 pages just under 3/4” thick. I swear they had amazing eyesight back then. Thirteen lines of print within the size of a quarter. Amazing job of typesetting, imo. Over 400 hymns. Published date of 1885, it says “by Rev John Wesley” and the preface written by same Oct 20th 1779. Guess it was in print for over 100 years. :)

    Yes, the ones that could read did!
    Wesley was the champion of the industrial revolution working classes and very few were literate ....fwiw
