Metal elk /deer chrome? 50s? 30s? What was this used for?

I think I actually may have posted this once before but it remains a mystery for me so thought I'd ask one more time.

Doorstop? Hood ornament? Just decorative? It is heavy, weighs almost 6 lbs.





The rivets that hold the back hooves on to the base seem to be brass. Hard to see here, will show it in the next photo as well, there are also tiny
holes in the 4 corners as if this was meant to attach to something.




Just curious if anyone has seen similar. What to call this?

 

Missed one photo. It was cast (??) in two pieces as shown. Steel? Chrome? Some kind of coated brass? (With those brass rivets?) Any info about metal, what this might have been used for, age, etc. appreciated! Thanks!

 

Bookend? A bit Art Deco inspired, maybe missing a stone plinth?
It strikes a pose, doesn't it.

The Lion, Gazelle (actually designed for a spark plug manufacturer in the early 1920s) and Swan are ubiquitous at shows like Pebble Beach.

 

It has a really great "look" !! LOVE IT !! ... Joy.

Thank you for the link. Some do look similar and they describe them as "silvered bronze" which seems like what I might have.

Is the consensus that mine is definitely a mascot or hood ornament, looking at the base, etc? I don't see a way it would screw in except those tiny holes in the corner.

This kind of thing is totally out of my field. Any additional help much appreciated.
