Featured Metal buttons.

Hi came across these buttons.
They are metal and enamel. Looks Chinese \ Japanese.

Any leads will be helpful.

 

They seem to be cloisonne dress shirt studs. One seems to be missing it's original "anchor".

 

Yup, and I bet they're silver.

 

GORGEOUS and look like they must have come off someone's beautiful handmade sweater!!!!!

How do i know if they are made of silver or some metal.
Is there any other lead. Will try googling to see if they are valuable

 

I know almost nothing about buttons, but I’d doubt they have much value because most have losses to the enamel especially near the edges. Also if those with the winged fastener came that way, they aren’t very old. I don’t think solid silver would hold up to firing the enamel, maybe tin-plated brass or steel?

 

Those winged fasteners go back to at least the late 19th C. I've hallmarked gold ones. It's very common to get cloisonne and other enamels on silver - think guilloche for a start. I've a friend who makes the stuff.
