Would anyone know what decade this piece would be from? I'm thinking the 50's but not sure. I wasn't able to find another like it. Were male mermaids popular at one time? Measures 9" tall.

 

I don't think it's male .. he's missing some important parts .. .. Joy.

 

And if it's female she's missing a couple of parts too .. Joy.

My first impression was that it's a prepubescent mermaid.

 

Honestly, I don't see the attraction, with all those parts missing.

 

Easy...female fish are bigger, & male fish play more video games..!
