Could be a tungsten carbide ring, there is another type which can be black also, but the name escapes me right now. https://www.google.com/search?q=Tungsten++carbide+ring&tbm=isch&hl=en&chips=q:tungsten+carbide+ring,g_1:black:tgDJWgccIok=&client=firefox-b-1-d&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjDwv23l_DxAhVNZKwKHTARDdgQ4lYoA3oECAEQFg&biw=1182&bih=575

The sheen on it makes me think of black onyx, but I do have trouble enlarging the pictures on my phone.

I have seen black onyx rings when I've been out and about digging through piles of jewelry.

cool thanks holly, interesting, last time i used tungsten was on a lathe cutting tool
i think men do choose these alternative metals for wedding rings though, for reasons unknown

Me three, I think she is right.
The sheen on that stone is definitely hematite not onyx like I was thinking.

It could be any number of materials including titanium, just a guessing game with an online photo.

Haemetite will feel cold and fairly heavy, and can be magnetic.

It's almost aluminium light, and not cold at all

It's probably some kind of washer knowing my luck:woot:
