Meissen??

I have a lovely small jug with lid which says Meissen, but doesn't look like any Meissen I've ever seen (which admittedly isn't much) Any ideas? Grateful as always for your time and expertise

 

Some quick googling indicates the S.S. stands for Steingutfabrik Sornewitz.

 

I found the following HERE:

Steingutfabrik Sörnewitz AG, Sörnewitz-Meissen, Sachsen. Spritzdekor was in use ca.1930 – ca. 1939. The firm had some 550 employees 1930-1934. Expropriated in 1945.

 

Thanks so much Bluumz I found the Steingutfabrik info as well, but still don't think it looks like Meissen, do you?

Remember that Meissen is a place.

The company that most people think of simply as Meissen is actually something along the lines of The Royal Porcelain Manufactory at Meissen.

There have been other ceramics factories in Meissen.

 

Sörnewitz is in the Meissen district, south.
