    Hello,

I found this piece from an estate sale.

I wonder if it is authentic and what is the approximate age? I have never seen a pottery with cross swords. aa1.JPG aa2.JPG aa3.JPG aa4.JPG aa6.JPG aa7.JPG aa9.JPG Thank you!

Meissen: stamped "Böttger Steinzeug" (Bottger Stoneware).

Wow if that was an actual original Boettger tea caddy ....well ...it would be worth an enormous amount of money!

I mean like a piece from the early 18thc - not doubting it is Meissen or anything!

This is one of those situations where pieces can stay in production indefinitely - so long as there's a demand. I don't know when the stamped mark was introduced, but I'll bet it's not all of that long ago.

The originals more than likely didn't have stamped names!

Nearly fell off my seat when I saw the first pic. Stayed on it when I scrolled to the impressed mark pic. As Blooey said, an 18th c original would be priceless. Still very nice.

Fairly new (last 30 years). The C18th examples have an impressed asterisk in square and nothing else, also more shiny and detailed
