You know Whit,we do have a big piece of brain coral on display-but can't say I've ever seen this.I'm sure some of our 'Potties' know abt it.
    PS-Makes a good Halloween piece !

Brain Glaze, also called Crawling Shino. If I saw one of those 17th century Shino cups for a buck,I'd assume it was made by some creative Beatnik potter.

Haven't seen it before myself. I dunno. Looks like some weird growth or fungus.

I guess it'd take some skill to control this kind of glaze.Personally not the most attractive ceramic technique I've ever seen.

Not one I'd want in the house, but it's a pretty sweet trick doing it.

Wouldn't turn a box of it down at a garage sale for $5-$10.

There used to be (? Maybe still is) a drink called the brain. Looked just like the above.

And, no, I never tasted it!

Brain and brain; what is brain? (with apologies to anyone whoever sat through that Star Trek episode unless you're into the unintentionally funny stuff.)

We used certain enhancements back in the 60's that added a little sparkle to Trek & Lost In Space....'What is brain ?!',not exactly-'Alas poor Yorick'.

Was it the kind you rolled yourself or something more "sparkly"?

The greener natural stuff, early days-but we grew up 55 miles north of San Francisco and my crew were 15-16 when it all started.
The 'sparkliest' stuff I'd had back then was The Byrds 12 string guitar at The Fillmore.
