    I know it depicts a stylized beetle, but te design may have been influenced by the "Death Mask" moth.

    Very beautiful but there is no remnant of the coins left on the front so why use them? Not really what I think of as a Hobo Nickel.

    Fantastic! Love the contrast of the gold. Silver Bugs were used in political campaigns in the 1890's since the Gold Standard/Free Silver debate was raging. William Jennings Bryan, frequent candidate for president, famous orator made a famous speech called the "Cross of Gold" in 1896.
