5 5/8" diameter, 2 5/8" high, weighs almost 21 oz. The mark hints at 1942, but the rest of the code is a mystery...mostly 'cause I haven't looked hard enough, y'know?
It's been in my family at least 70 years, as I recall eating Mom's homemade Chili con Carne from it in high school.
I love it for it's mass...warm it inna oven, dump in your fave stew, chili, or often in my case, split pea soup so thick it'll stand a spoon...yer supper will stay hot for hours! Not that it ever lasted that long, but...
For all the use it's had, there is precious little wear on the glaze, which seems particularly thick, somehow.
So now after all that: is the bowl Ironstone...or Stoneware...or Vitreous...or? Thanks for lookin'!
