Among the items in the box were two dozen coins including a 1652 Pine Tree Shilling struck by colonists in defiance of England, a bronze medal portraying George Washington, a silver plate made by Revere, and colonial records and newspapers. Galvin said he expected the items would be displayed at the museum for some time before being placed back beneath the state house cornerstone, possibly with additional items from this era. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/massachusetts-officials-open-220-year-old-time-capsule-n280971 https://www.wbur.org/2015/01/06/sam-adams-mass-time-capsule
The only item from this era that I'd include would be a spring loaded jumping worm.......if anyone's still here in 2235 to open it...it should give them a heart attack......if hearts still exist !
220 years seems a bit quick. In England we have houses with attics that have not been disturbed for longer than that. Apart from putting more stuff up there, of course.
I plan a trip up to Boston to see it. The last item I was excited to see was a copy of the Magna Carta that was on exhibit at the MFA. Awesome to actually see it in person. Much smaller than I imagined. Tiny, cramped writing. It still gives you chills to look at it.
I actually got chills when I saw King Tut's exhibit in LA and saw the beautiful jewelry and how fine it was made.
Russian eggs were in town this summer......AWESOME metal work ! I was unimpressed by how many people were looking at the displays on their phones...rather than up close with their eyes...! Faberge.....non plus ultra !
