I bought this soup/cereal bowl today.
I know Mason's Ironware isn't rare, but I'm just curious to know when this was made

I checked https://janicepaull.com/xmark/marks.htm, but wasn't able to determine the date there, as mine has the crown shape from various marks, and then the text of another mark that has a different crown.
And there's also a mark that looks like an ox skull/inverted A
    image0.jpeg
and nothing similiar is visible on the marks on that site

I expect Google will have some info on Mason's marks. I think the date will be determined by "Guaranteed Permanent and Acid Resisting Colours." I'm guessing post-WW2 and 1960s maybe. The Mason's mark has been unchanged for a long time.

Almost the same mark, but already saying "Made in England" on this website.

Update: Sorry, I just see now in your post that you already checked that site.

Thanks for your help and the 1940s info!
Are there more sites confirming this? (i didn't find them, yet) Because opinions seem to differ regarding dates:

    For this mark,
    acidresist.gif
    the seller on https://www.etsy.com/listing/1651390402/masons-ironstone-pink-vista-oval says:
"Stamped with Mason's (over a crown) Patent Ironstone (inside a banner) Vista, England, Guaranteed Permanent & Acid Resisting Colors. This dates it to after 1950."

Exact same mark on https://janicepaull.com/xmark/marks.htm :
    "This mark is after 1940"

Is transfer printed (mullardantiques item) vs handwritten (mine) pattern number significant regarding the date? Or was/is it normal to use both versions in the same period?

And any info/ideas regarding the inverted A (or whatever it is)

Whatever the date is, I'm happy with my 1 EUR find :)

Only now I noticed that 'Guaranteed' looks like 'Cuaranteed', but that C could simply be a badly transfer printed G.
    But ...
I also noticed that 'Permanent' is written as 'Pernanent' (with an N instead of an M)
In another thread about Mason's, I read that it isn't likely that Mason ware is faked as it hasn't great value, but these typos do remind me of those on counterfeit clothes and CDs from China.
    Genuine typo, or genuine fake?

I've never heard of fake masons. It just wouldn't be worth the effort

Earlier today, I sent an e-mail to Janice Paull to ask about the date. I was about to click on send, when I noticed those typos, so I mentioned them as well.
If I get an answer, I will share it here.

Here is a similar mark, dates it to the 1920s:

Thanks for reminding me of that one. I had seen it, but for some reason I forgot about it. Maybe because it doesn't say China? (or because it's Wikipedia :D)
So that's another site with a different opinion regarding dating pieces with that text.
The only mark on the Janice Paull site with those banner lines instead of 'China', is the 1950s mark.
