Marks on Small Aluminum Basket

    Does anyone know these marks? Picked this up at an estate sale with some other things.

    Hi,
    A lot of aluminum was fashioned into stuff in the 1950s. Had all that metal from planes etc left from the War. It was called "poor man's silver".

    I looked it up in Collectible Aluminum book by Grist...do not see any similar mark..sorry

    Aluminum isn't selling right now unless it's very unique. I have a bunch of it packed away in case it gets popular again.

    Not to rock the boat, because it certainly looked like aluminum to me at first glance.... but that T NN on the bottom makes me ask - any chance this is really pewter and made in Europe?

    Don't clean it! For future guidance, aluminium is very very light - much more so than pewter, so that might be a pointer.
