    Good afternoon,
I have a pin that has an abalone inlay on the front, and is marked 925 on the reverse. It appears to have a hallmark (Mexican?), but I am unsure as to the mark.

Can any of the attached pics shed some light?

    Many thanks.

To my eye, that says JHE.

I was just looking at the mark in reference to the Mexico which Brook16 seemed unsure about.

Thank you all. My main question was the mark, as I could not find anything about the AAC that is stamped.

    Not a hallmark but a maker's mark.;)
My Mexican marks book says AAC is a Taxco maker, no known name. The eagle mark means it was made before 1980.
Taxco is the most famous Mexican silver town.
I don't think it matters who made it valuewise, it is cute, but the style is pretty generic.

A hallmark is an official assay mark, named after the guildhalls of the old European silver- and goldsmith guilds. A hallmark can only be punched by a government agency, not by a silversmith.

And I just want to add that your piece is one that I would polish and remove that blackening. It’s a cutie.
