thought they were seagulls, but think the wings look too long
    like a painted lead
would the stone backing be marble ?
im guessing 1940s but could be way off

    Already dreading spring and summer...
Last year a gull had its nest on one of the neighbours' roof and every time someone came near the house, the gull started squawking. This went on the whole day (worst alarm clock ever), for many weeks...
And if you came too close, the gull would attack you. Another neighbour had her balcony repaired. They ended up having to cover the balcony with a net, to keep the workmen safe ...

karl pilkington mentioned once that a seagull snatched a Chihuahua from an owners lap on the seafront, and took it out to sea

Never heard of Pilkington over here.Perhaps Pilkie's kind of a UK Howard Stern,a Brit-style 'shock jock' ?

The seagull would be less fortunate if it was a Warner Brothers film ...
