    Is The maltees cross common on african carvings and If it is what part of africa would it be from ? . Thanks for Any help.. Les

    Welcome Les.
    Depends on what you call a Maltese cross. The cross shape is seen worldwide.
    We would have to see the item to be able to say anything about it.
