    Hi,
3 photos (CDV) that are probably male but want to double check. Also, in the last photo is the little boy holding a riding crop? I thought he was holding a drum in other hand but it is his hat.
    any information appreciated.
    thanks for looking.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

I would figure they're boys because of the short hair, except number 2... did boys have hair done like that? Well, for a while in the 1980s, maybe but...
    I think that one's a girl.

I'm going to say Boy - Girl - Girl. But I'm really really bad at guessing these!

A couple minutes later... I am thinking now that the third one is a boy, mostly because of the hands. So. ... Boy - Girl - Boy.

I'm going to say girl, boy, girl because the top one is a young woman with her hair pulled back. The third one has boobs. ;-) The lace around the neck is another giveaway; men didn't wear that after the 18th century if I remember correctly. Definitely not in the Victorian era. The second one just looks like a little boy.

Is this what it was like in the 1960s? Trying to tell boys from girls?
    Hey, I made a joke!
    Whooopeeee!

Check out the Little Lord Fauntleroy look that was popular for boys in the late 19th-early 20th century:

That being said, the collar on the one in the first photo is not the usual for the LLF look. However, I also haven't seen any girls wearing that particular kind of collar then, either.

    My two cents:
    1. Could be either, but I think young lady pre teen, because of the stand up lace collar.

    2. Girl - the LLFs aren't wearing a hairband to hold the hair out of the eyes. The smaller picture shows the skirt behind her while she is sitting.
The mustache is a trick of the lighting, notice above the eyebrows.

    3. Young lady, cinched waist, the satin dress goes well past the waist. Plus the poised coy look - not boyish.

    4. I think the young man is holding a stick used for a game, possibly hoop rolling. He's not really dressed for riding and the hat is not a riding hat, so I would rule out riding crop.

Thanks for all the input folks:)
#1 - I thought from the ears was a boy, but the features seem so feminine so I don't know.
    #2 - I keep thinking boy
#3 - I had thought male but as evelyb points out she has boobs so I guess female

That military style jacket was the in thing for girls too for a long time.

Well, I'll offer up my guesses with the reasoning behind them. #1, #2, #3 are all girls based on how their tops/jackets are buttoned.

Men's clothes have the buttons on the right .... women's are on the left.

I have no idea what #4 is holding, but stick (maybe for a hoop, as others have said) seems plausible.

To me, #2 as a little girl and #3 as a young women, look like they are the same person. JMHO
