Made in India, help!

I believe this came from my great grandfather, maybe when over seas serving military. Does anyone know anything about the markings or what the name of this is. Thank you in advance!!

 

I don't think it's horribly old - 1970s or later, with that sort of marking. The design doesn't say "old" either.

I don't know how old your great-grandfather was when he served overseas, but a lot of items aren't necessarily as old as the owner. This type of thing is still being made in India so it's really hard to tell. However, the fact that the designation is written in English is a big clue to the fact that it was made for the tourist trade and fairly recently.
