Sorry about the bad picture. Purchased 1980s from someone who liked antiques but no idea where he got it. Sorry only pic I was able to get.

Looks like a night stand...............possibly "French Provincial" from the late 1960s - but other, more conclusive assistance will be along shortly I'm sure............

Thanks! I have only studied modern bauhaus and art deco from 20th century not familiar yet with these other 20th century styles and revivals

I'd have said even later than Manson's - more like 70s from the hardware. No age on it, at any rate. It's perfectly usable however.

Have taken the liberty of editing (straighten and brighten) your pic for better viewing.

Hey can I ask how you can tell its french provincial from 1960s is it the hardware? (BC French Provincial spans centuries if I am googling correctly.)

One part is a description of the style and another is the estimate of age. The only way to know is by experience of seeing lots of similar pieces, and seeing pictures only means any estimate is a guesstimate to some extent.

The smallish size and general configuration indicates a newer piece. I suspect you will have a plywood or composition wood back on this as well. Drawers will have machine cut dovetails or no dovetails at all. Have a look and/or post more pics for us to confirm. A single fuzzy pic can often be misleading but I do think we are seeing enough in this case to indicate a newer piece.

The reason I place quotes around French Provincial in my first response was to indicate that (in my opinion) at the time this piece was produced it was marketed under the style name of French Provincial - in actuality an adaptation of the original form. I suppose more technically it could be refereed to as French Provincial Revival, or Neo-French Provincial, but those terms are not commonly used for a style that has not been historically important (yet?).
