Coin that @daveydempsey pretty much filled me in about some time ago.....I did the 10K and 14K acid tests....don't have 12K, so here are the results of the 10K & 14K.......Davey had suggested I give a better rubbing on the stone which I finally got around to doing yesterday.....TRYING to get a few things done!! I haven't done that many tests to trust myself, so HERE I am!! THANK YOU, all, whoever you may be!!!!

It's better than 12k; the acid would have eaten right through it. This doesn't rule out 14kgf but I'm not seeing the reddening 12kgf would do. I'd hit it with the 18k acid too and see what happens.

I can't remember, but did I really say to scrape a coin ?:eek::eek::hilarious:

Maybe if it was already damaged and of no numismatic value and just for the gold value then maybe:D

Yep, it's one that had a correct face on one side and someone had an incorrect face/faces on the other side.....and I had done the 18K test and the acid turned very dark, so I assumed it WASN'T that!!!! But thanks for the reminder!!!! Davey, you didn't say to scrape the coin, just to rub the edge on the stone...........this time I gave it a GOOD rub!!!

THANKS ALL!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!

I've never put the acid directly onto a suspected gold piece. Burned through some silverplate a time or two yes, but not gold.

You all have taught me to never put the acid directly onto anything, and I've been a GOOD doo-bee!!!! That's on the testing stone!!
