Featured Long Coral bead necklace

50 inches long!
Beads 3-4 mm wide. No clasp present so no help there in dating it.
Any info about the age please? Would it be worn usually as one long strand or looped to make two? @Any Jewelry Thanks.

 

Gorgeous. Those long delicate necklaces were worn as a single strand in the late 19th century and the early years of the 20th century (pre-flapper).

 

Thank you AJ. I had a look around online, there’s a 70+ inch strand on Dibs that has been restrung and knotted between beads which will have pushed the length up. Mine seem to be very clean looking at the thread end knots so that confused me a bit too, but they must not have been worn much. Thanks again.

 

They wore them again in the 50s to some extent. I'd restring if planning to wear them, since older cotton breaks at a dirty look.
