Bought this fun "puzzle" today. Didn't have the combination, but after many attempts, I managed to open it :)

Took a photo of the combination, closed it again, turned the rings to lock it, and tried to open it again to check if it would open easily now that I knew the combination, and ... I was no longer able to open it. Checked the code, that was correct, moved the rings a bit, still nothing. And only many minutes later, I saw ... that one of the rings had the same character twice :banghead:
Was this made a month ago? Or is it a bit older than that?

    Don't tell anyone ... but I cheated a bit... :D
As I wasn't having any luck with the trial and error attemps, trying out each possible combination, I tried this option , but that didn't work for me, as the ring wasn't going down like the one in the vid. So, my solution was getting a light and magnifying glasses, and I managed to see where the opening of the first ring was. Turned it to the correct position, and then I noticed that the rings had presumably been cut from one piece, as they alligned perfectly in one position, and with that allignment the lock opened :smug:

    A bit older.;)
Some wear, not much though, and some lacquer loss due to friction and rubbing, so it has been used.

I've got several of these that were given to us (Jon's a locksmith) but they are new made to look old. They are made in China and India. The Indian ones are padlocks and are coming out in the shape of animals. We have a turtle. If you want a job, we're hiring!
