Little table or taboret - wooden "trench art"

    It looks like a school woodwork project to me.

    Not quite, but shed work most likely. That's home workshop to us Americans. Someone put in an awful lot of work on it. My guess would be it's a plant stand.

    It’s difficult to see, and I understand there are no other photos, but I’m confused by the additional wood on the base. I can understand the X to stabilize the leaves, but then something forming a groove.

    It looks like root furniture,so Id guess from somewhere in the far east or maybe the Philipines .

    Also think some kind of more recent import. Could be from the far east but I kind of get a Caribbean vibe from it.

    Haiti? Dominican? That would make sense with the style and construction. All the bitty modern nails underneath had me thinking wood shop project, but Caribbean fits too.
