5 and a half x 7 and a half inches. I can’t really decipher the middle initial and haven’t been able to find the artist. Hoping someone else can do better. I don’t know much about boats but is it weird these two types are sailing together? Think it’s possibly the white cliffs of Dover on the right. Sorry about the reflections. Thank you.

    looks like a Sloop....following a Man o War........
with other boats in the area , maybe they were giving it a sendoff..at the start of the Great War !

    That's really nice!
The artist was ver' familiar with Sail...and had a beautiful signature, too.

I think that's a ketch, @komokwa, you can see the top of the mast above the sail, which if you follow it down with something straight, ISN'T well in line with the bottom of the mast, but who's being picky here.......'not meeee'.....:jawdrop::joyful::joyful::joyful:

HAHA!!! Great pun, @komokwa!!! My Dad used to have a couple of sailboats at a couple of different times.....LOVED to sail....one was a 42' double ended ketch- teak hull, the other was a 40' gaff-rigged schooner.....I never learned to swim well, but never fell overboard either!!! The ketch (my fave) had a square sail that could also be hauled up....here she is:

Thanks Anund, great find, it does seem very likely it is him given the subject.
Looks as if he painted mine not long before he died. He had a steady hand doing that fine rigging.

Think he's right too. And could have been a talented amateur which is why so little is available about him.
