Hi all. Picked this up today and fell instantly in love ! its 5x7,and it was pristinely clean, wich never happens ! Ive looked at Britt but I cant find a style or signature that is like this. Any and all input (even if "Eeeew" ) is always appreciated. DSCN3535.JPG DSCN3537.JPG

I like it and would've gotten it too, Johnny!

Apologies I cannot help with the name...

I have to comment because I immediately thought the sig. was BIFF. The name of my first dog - the only one that was totally mine. Have to agree that it certainly looks like Britt. But maybe not. Take a break and look again. Any chance it's not Britt?
Sorry, the pic is not my style. Not at my age; not for an angel.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

I searched a couple of master lists of modern artists and came up empty-handed... sorry... any possibility of a different spelling interpretation?
    I think it's cute... light-hearted, colorful.
    Good luck!

I also see Britt so can't help with identification.

The proportions and how the figure is presented in this painting bother me. The wings are so small as to almost be able to miss them. I wasn't even sure what they were at first. The arms are too big. The body looks like the top half is facing away from the viewer while the bottom half is facing forward slightly at profile (either that or the figure only has half a butt!). Hate to knock this a bit but think it amateur and why we can't find anything about the artist.

The only Britt that I found was Benjamin. First impression is that this is not by him. Red signature always speaks to my factory painting but of course there are numerous exceptions.
Is it on canvas? Maybe look at the edges and see if the paint is even?

I confess I didn't realize they were wings at first ! I thought it was a ruffle ! That's okay Brad, honest opinions are the lifeblood of open discourse. Im not one of those who will get upset or argue if someones opinion isn't glowing . :)

Johnny, some people think my Miro artwork is OK for a first grader. So I fully respect that you like her. I recognized what I think are angel wings first off. But wondered why they extended to the knees. But please describe the face as you see it. I'm seeing a misplaced ear and a face that looks consumed with RAGE! REd eye, flattened nose and pouted mouth. Honest, I'd be happier with a better perspective.

To me,it looks like she was caught in mid dance,or flight if you will. I don't see rage, more like concentration. It was the colors that caught my eye
I took it out of the frame and there is some paint on the sides.

AHHH! Thanks. Really. You made me consider that it's maybe the color. Green is my least favorite color and that influenced my total opinion.
I have a sketch under glass I bought from an art student in Amsterdam. I happen to like it. Everyone else thinks it's the ugliest female ever found.

Where do you see a face? I see a partial profile with mostly hair that falls on either side of one ear. Maybe the artist accomplished what he/she wanted if we all see something different.

Wow! I see a green-robed, red-haired "angel" with odd wings that trail... she's facing away from us; we see her back and a side view of her head as she looks to her left! Arms held out as if in blessing or preparation for "Don't Cry for me, Argentina."

I also see a woman turned away, with only part of her face showing.

She looks Asian to me, which could fit if this turned out to be a factory painting.

Yes, Pat. She is facing left. Consider ear as reference point. Red lips touching upper part of wing. Resemblance of a nose between lips and a red eyebrow (both poorly dabbed on) pointed down, strong frown, which makes me feel shows anger- hostility. Then forehead to hairline.

OK, have to be a guy and add one more that I saw day one.
She does, on the left side. show a rather enticing ............. UH, how to put it ................ Well - take a look left, between waist and left thigh. Noticeable, significant buttock ..................... but shark attack on the right side. That one is bitten off.

Maybe we are looking at a Dali student/wannabe.

Hey there Oldguy! Nothing like Dali, but I saw exactly that same nice behind! haha! I like the wings too and the idea of the red hair. I'm not much for greens unless it's in a landscape painting, but they work for me here.

Johnny, this looks like a pallet knife painting where the artist has been a bit "stingy" with the paint. While it does not resemble your average imported factory painting, the sig could definitely be, as Kard mentioned above.

The reason I think it may be an import is that I don't see any of this same exact color of red in the rest of this "work of art" (and I use that term loosely). Is the siggy a completely different color of red?

It also resembles student art - a painting of a standing nude that the artist wasn't happy with, so he "gussied it up" with wings. Is it a pallet knife painting?

I still like it and would have bought it (for cheap) too!

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Yes, she has half of a (in the popular parlance) bubble-booty.
    Butt...
    I mean *BUT*...
OG, what you see as a heavy angry eyebrow is, to me, the bridge of her nose, with the eye just above... a much more benign expression.
The short hair is interesting... kinda Joan-of-Arc-y.

She is standing with her hip thrust out, that's all.
    Kinda like this . . .

Ahhhhhhh... I was kinda thinking that, too. Nice example.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Ohhhhh, NOW I see what you see. Okay, so what you have in purple *I* was seeing as the bridge of the nose... with an indistinct eye just above and no real brow... yes, pink is forehead. Wouldn't you love to ask the artist? Or maybe just smack him/her upside the head? Sorry... I'm working on anger management.
