I just can't take photos of reflective surfaces, so there are a lot of reflections & glare in this photo of a ltd ed seriograph. At least I'm pretty sure with your previous help that is a serigraph. So sorry about the photos. Estate sale in KC, brass frame, no markings except penciled name & number 148/260 & a frame label on the back Kulicake, Broadway, NY. Signature looks to be Kugan, Koyer or similar. It measures 30x30. Please in the future be kind enough to post close-up photographs of framers' labels. They provide lots of information. For instance... Who knew this?

"But for much of his life Mr. Kulicke was the most innovative and influential picture frame designer in the United States. His reputation rested primarily on several streamlined frames that were both widely used and imitated, especially a welded aluminum frame and a wrap-around clear Lucite “plexibox” frame."

    Or this?

I would assume the frame is not brass but anodized aluminum.

Try taking your pictures from a slight angle. You'll have to experiment to find the sweet spot, but this should help.

Thank you again, you are probably right about the frame. I forgot about the fact it could be gold colored aluminum. And it is non-glass, so yes is lucite because it is cracked unfortunately. I was in pain with my back and even doing what I did as far as photos was very hurtful, which is why I said what Anyone ideas as to the signature?

No one recognizes the name? If my frame had the Kulike impressed into it, it would have been valuable, but the red stamp may be as well. Does anyone know the new name of the frame shop he used to have? Maybe they would recognize the signature or serigraph.

I remember those frames. They were popular in the '70s and '80s. If Kulicke innovated the system, it was soon being imitated by many others. I liked them. Extremely convenient and inexpensive. Extruded aluminum, secured at the corners by brackets and set screws. You could buy the pieces individually and assemble a frame of practically any size. You had to find your own glass and backing. That was about the time they started making that foam-core paperboard, I think specifically for that kind of frame.

The frames are easy to disassemble. Just release the set screws on either side at the top, and that top section will pull up and off. Then you can get a photo of the print without reflections, and there might be more info that is currently out of sight.

Looking around, I seem to have only one frame of the type. This incarnation uses a spring clip to hold a canvas board in place.

There's really only one way it can go together.

I have the red Kulike label. LOL. I did see one frame online that was actually stamped Kulike into the frame. Collectors' item. If anyone ever recognizes the penciled signature please let me know. Thank you all.
