The contrasting styles of Lesley Gore:
As the 1960’s go on, so did music & fashion. As these LP covers depict....

From my collection, these are Mercury Records Mono first pressings of Boys Boys Boys (1964) & My Town, My Guy & Me (1965).

The LP’s are in mint condition.

*the My Town, My Guy & Me was still sealed from 1965 when I got it in 2015, but I couldn’t resist the temptation to open it and plaaay it!

In those days I was desperately trying to wear my hair in a flip (most girls either wore a flip or a page boy) but my hair just has its own ideas. It was such a relief when one of the Beatles answered a question about the girls they liked & said they like long straight hair. That I could do. Thank you Jane Asher.

Looks like they were trying to get Lesley to grow up and and go "downtown" on the Petula Clark bandwagon.

Wouldn't mind if sheath dresses came back. It's a flattering look.

@Bronwen @Ghopper1924 I’m sorry I missed out on the conversation, I will have to catch up. VM was out all day galavanting around vintage-ing. I found some items I will have to post in the near future.

For now I will put these new finds in the vintage vinyl genre.
It’s pretty coincidental that Petula Clark was mentioned in this thread because she was one of the vintage records I found in my travels today (I Know A Place); along with several others. 4150C3DF-61DC-481F-8F26-20FFE78F51F2.jpeg

I just looked up "Pet" Clark, and not only is she still alive, she looks great!

I was a little kid, but I do remember that you could hardly throw a rock in the mid 1960s without hitting a radio tuned to Petula Clark.
