Leather Native American doll

anyone have any idea of the tribal affiliation on this doll? it is 17" tall. thank you!!!

I don't have an opinion either, sorry.

 

Space aliens are thought to have explored the western US back when the only inhabitants were what we now call native Americans. The doll may be have been styled after those aliens, particularly the facial features. It is possible even though it seems a bit far-fetched.

 

Maybe a non-Native person's idea of a kachina, or the beginning of a kachina?

 

rain clouds on the face, rainbow on the chest....maybe some sort of healing doll....made by whom....whom knows?

 

The opposite of a voodoo doll? Good concept.

 

thank you for the comments, it was suggested to me as possibly a voodoo doll with the target on the belly area... but why a rainbow? Or a rain dance doll??

 

I don't see a voodoo doll with a target.
A doll like that would have some resemblance to a specific person ...or a lock of their hair ..clothes ..or something personal to define the doll.
